Cliff May (President of the neoconservative Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a policy institute focusing on terrorism created immediately following the 9/11 attacks on the United States), on Obama, midnight last night:
He is brilliant at speaking eloquently while saying nothing…He also just told a bald lie: “The Republicans talk about a hundred year war in Iraq.” Really? Who said that? When? Anyone going to ask him to back that up?
Tick, tick, tick, tick…umm…10:54am today:
Yes, it was McCain (as readers have informed me) but what he said was that the United States military could stay in Iraq for “maybe a hundred years” and that “would be fine with me.” That’s not the same as talking about “100 years of war in Iraq.”
I love it when the nuts start talking like Bill Clinton in order to parse their statements. They’ve learned well from the man they hate so much.
